BAILE SORSOGEŇA

BAILE SORSOGEŇA

            This dance as the title is a very popular dance in Sorsogon. It is very much enjoyed during their social gatherings. The Sorsogeňas are very sociable people. They are also known as very good singers. Dance researchers can be very well be proud of many dances they have contributed for dissemination throughout the country through seminars and workshops.

JOTA ROJANA

JOTA ROJANA
This festival dance from Nabua, Camarines Sur, has some similarities with the Areuana dance from Iloilo. It is performed in some social gathering like weddings and Baptismal parties. Usually, the old people start the dance, followed by the younger ones. Dancing couples follow one another, varying figures.

Costume
Girl wears patadyong and camisa or kimona and Boy wears barong tagalog and white trousers.

Music
Music is divided into four parts: A, B, C and D.

Count
Count one, two, three to a measure or one, two, three, four, five, six to two measures.

Formation
Partners stand facing each other about six feet apart. When facing audience, Girl stands at partner’s right side. One or more pairs may take part.
